One last opportunity…

So I began thinking about the ‘Undecided Voter Quiz’ that I gave a few days ago and it dawned on me (since I work in an educational environment) that many people learn in many different ways. Also, some people are so engrossed in their jobs that you can only discuss things with them in the terminology they use day in and day out. So I would like to offer some helpful terminology that will make things easier for you if you happen to run across one or more of these people before the election tomorrow…

As a foundational principal I submit that the Right-To-Life issue is the single most important and divisive one facing our voters. I base this conclusion on the simple premise that ALL of the other issues are theoretical in nature. Experts can be found everywhere to conclude that:

  • Both candidates have offered economic packages that may or may not eliminate the current economic crisis.
  • Both candidates have offered medical care changes that may or may not improve health care in this country (a country by the way, with the best health care system in the world).
  • Both candidates have offered military strategies that may or may not bring the war in Iraq and Afghanistan to a peaceful conclusion.
  • Both candidates have offered plans regarding illegal immigrants that may or may not bring this issue to an acceptable conclusion.
  • And finally, both candidates have shown character (and character flaws) that may or may not make them the right leader for this country at this time.

But the one issue upon which everyone has to agree is that the opinion of the two candidates about right-to-life and ‘when life begins’ is so fundamentally different that it can easily be used to separate the two candidates. So without further ado, I would like to present my ways of helping people from different walks of life determine which Presidential candidate to vote for.

If you have someone who is a technology savant; a programmer, project manager, web designer OR someone who is just highly organized and needs things laid out in an orderly fashion, I give you the decision flowchart:

If you are speaking with someone who would like to take a reasoned approach and to deduce who they should vote for using Deductive Logic, try this:

All humans, once conceived have a right to life.
–You must vote for John McCain.

Embryos do not become a human (and thus do not have rights) until they are fully delivered from the mothers’ womb and the umbilical cord is cut.
–You should vote for Barack Obama.

If you are speaking with a farmer, you might try this approach:
You have planted enough seed to harvest about 16,000 [insert item here] each day but someone comes along each day and cuts down about 4,000 of them.
John McCain wants to stop them from being able to cut any down but Barack Obama wants to make it easier for them to cut down even more.

If you are speaking with a business person, an economist or a banker, this might work:
You were given a loan to open a store and begin selling widgets.
Your business model showed that you have the ability to make and sell about 16,000 widgets each day. At this level, you are able to meet all of your manufacturing costs and still make a modest profit for yourself.
Recently, you have begun losing about 4,000 widgets per day to theft and can no longer meet your bills or pay back your loan.
John McCain wants to stop the thieves from getting any of your widgets.
Barack Obama wants to relax the restrictions on the thieves and allow them to take as many from you as they would like.

If you are speaking with a lawyer or someone in the law enforcement arena, they might respond to:
The laws of the United States of America state that the murder of an innocent human is illegal in all instances.
Today, we have documented scientific proof that a human becomes an autonomous organism immediately following conception.
John McCain would ask the Supreme Court Justices to review this countries abortion laws in light of scientific advances made since its inception.
Barack Obama would immediately sign into law a bill that relaxes virtually all restrictions upon abortion.

And Finally, what about the person who just wants to know the truth about this situation:
There are just under 12,000 children born in the United States of America each day.
There are between 3,000 and 5,000 children aborted in the United States of America each day (because of the laws in place, an accurate count is impossible).
If the Freedom of Choice Act is signed into law, the conservative estimate is that about 7,000 children will be aborted each day; some will only be a day or two away from a normal, natural full-term birth!
John McCain will veto the Freedom of Choice Act if he is presented with it and will ask the Supreme Court to review Roe v. Wade and other Pro-Choice laws that appear to be in opposition to the foundational principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence.
Barack Obama will sign the Freedom of Choice Act if he is presented with it and would legitimize as many abortions as possible.

Whose choice is it anyway…

Well I was all set to go back to writing funny, pithy little snide comments and remarks when I got an e-mail from a very good friend of mine. It seems that this abortion issue is just getting worse and worse. I really wasn’t planning on spending another post on the subject since MOST of you agreed with the position and the few dissenters did not seem to be so much pro-abortion as ‘seeking the right time that abortion could be abolished’. But that all changed with my quick edumacation today. It seems that my buddy Barack Obama is very excited about becoming President so that he can sign into law the bill (S. 1173, H.R. 1964) called “The Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA) and as originally written was designed to codify** the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. For me, that would be enough to say “No”; however as the bill has gone through the lawmaking process, it has picked up and (more importantly) dropped some very interesting (read alarming) verbiage.

**Codification is when existing laws and their amendments are rewritten so that they are no longer chronological but placed within their branch of law and the meanings of the decisions and amendments are ‘interpreted’ by those who write the bill. In this case, several pro-abortion Senators’ have taken the liberty of interpreting the decisions for us.

So, without sugar-coating anything, here are the ‘rights’ that Barack Obama wants to give to pregnant women and take away from unborn babies.

  1. Federally mandate the removal of laws in place to ensure abortion facilities meet health and safety regulations.
  2. Federally mandate the removal of ‘informed consent’ to abortion since these laws can lead to delay in abortion and are seen as interfering with the abortion process.
  3. Federally mandate that the government may not discriminate against the funding of abortion in publicly funded programs. Our tax dollars will now be required, from the Federal level, to be available to pay for abortions!
  4. Federally mandate the allowance of abortions after viability (partial-birth and late term abortions) with no stipulation for the health of the mother.
  5. Allow for the removal of the requirement that abortions be performed by a medically qualified physician.
  6. Removes the right of Conscientious Objection. In other words, physicians, hospitals and other medical personnel can be forced to perform or support abortions even if their moral principals are being violated.
  7. Removes the rights for parents to be involved/notified of their minor daughter’s decision to have an abortion.

So what does this all mean? Well, this is the most aggressive pro-abortion/anti-life piece of legislation ever drafted. In my opinion, Articles of War have been drafted with less certainty of holocaust. This bill literally rolls back every major advance that the pro-life movement has made since the 1973 decision of Roe v. Wade including those that were put in place to protect the health of the mother who decides to have an abortion. According to the NOW website: [The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA)] would sweep away hundreds of anti-abortion laws, policies.”

As of today October 20, 2008, 4,797 Americans have died in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan; that’s just about 7 years worth of fighting. Senator Obama says this is too costly in lives and money. Today (and today alone) 3000 unborn children will die at the hands of abortionists; tomorrow 3000 more will die, the next day another 3000, and so on…These are not just numbers, these are lives and Barack Obama is chomping at the bit to sign this bill into law! If I knew nothing else about this man, I would tell you that you are either an idiot or you are evil if you vote for him to become President of the United States!

Perhaps you’ve heard that Nancy Pelosi is already making plans for a Lame Duck session of Congress the week following the election. If Barack Obama wins and the Liberals pick up a few more seats, they will force a lame duck session NOT to work on the economy, NOT to create an energy plan, they will meet to draft and bring forward massive amounts of medical, tax, and invasive legislation that will be ready for their new President to sign the moment he takes office. This bill is an example of their best work; they want to make it unsafe, easy and free for any girl or woman in the US to have an abortion.

If you haven’t seen this video yet (http://www.durarealidad.com/), please watch it. It was created by the man who is responsible for the movie Bella (thanks, Nicole). It is horrible and graphic and will hopefully make you sick to your stomach. If it doesn’t then you deserve the government that you will unleash upon the rest of us. One thing I do know is that John McCain and Sarah Palin WILL NOT SUPPORT this bill and they will do everything in their power to have it removed from the lawmaking process.

Pray, pray like you’ve never prayed before. Pray for John and Sarah but pray for Barack and Joe as well because if they do get elected, they WILL SEE this bill and the only thing that could stop someone from signing it into law is a conscience. Barack has not shown me one yet and if Joe has one, it is not strong enough to overcome his boss (not yet anyway).
